World AI FuturesFoundation

A long view. A practical beginning.

A safer future.
Built together.

Helping early AI safety teams turn promising ideas into work that matters — for people everywhere, and generations to come.

First cohort in preparation.

The founding cohort

Start small.
Build with care.

1Pilot team to begin
3–5Teams planned for the first cohort
8–12Weeks of planned validation

AI will shape our shared future.
Its safety deserves a global effort.

We are forming World AI Futures Foundation to help build a future in which AI benefits humanity. Our starting point is practical: help early teams test ideas that could reduce serious risks from AI.

We aim to bring people, expertise and resources together across borders. Our first programme will test how expert guidance, talent recruitment and hands-on operations can help a team deliver useful, assessable work.

A global outlook. A responsibility to future generations.

One team.
A meaningful first result.

In preparation

We plan to begin with one pilot team, then grow to a first cohort of three to five as funding and capacity allow. Each team will work towards a clear milestone over a planned 8–12 weeks.

01

Define the risk

Choose a specific AI safety problem with a qualified expert. Explain what could improve, and why the approach might work.

02

Bring the right people together

Match a capable team with relevant guidance, a named project lead and a realistic budget.

03

Build, test and learn

Work towards an inspectable result: for example, a scoped safety evaluation, a tested tool or a reproducible finding.

04

Let the evidence guide what comes next

Review results against agreed criteria. Decide whether to continue, change direction or stop, and share the reasoning.

The focus area, launch date and funding arrangements will be confirmed once the necessary expertise and resources are in place.

Good ideas need people
who can help them happen.

Our starting strength is operations: building communities, helping technology companies work across borders, and connecting with the Chinese and Chinese-speaking technology ecosystem.

I.

Talent & connections

Help teams find contributors, potential co-founders and collaborators through relevant networks.

II.

Expert guidance

Recruit AI safety specialists to assess technical merit, shape milestones and review results.

III.

Hands-on operations

Coordinate recruitment, budgets and delivery, and help teams prepare for further funding conversations.

These are the capabilities we are assembling and will test with the first pilot. Specialist and funding partnerships are still being developed.

An invitation to build

The future is a shared undertaking.

We would like to hear from early teams, AI safety experts and funding partners who want to help shape the first cohort.

Thoughtful beginnings. Clear milestones. A long-term commitment.

Teams & experts

Begin a conversation.

We are gathering interest for the first cohort. You can introduce a project, offer relevant expertise, or explore joining a team.

For teams

Tell us about the risk you want to address, your approach, your experience, the first result you could deliver and the support you need.

For experts

Tell us about your area of expertise, relevant work and the time you could offer for advice or review.

Use your own experience and judgement. AI-assisted translation or proofreading is welcome; you remain responsible for your answers. Shortlisted teams will take part in a conversation and project review.

An expression of interest is not an offer of funding or a place in the programme. Response timing will be published when the intake process is confirmed.

For founding partners

Help the first teams
do meaningful work.

We are exploring a €1 million, 12-month programme budget. We will start with one pilot, aim for three to five teams in the founding cohort, and expand only as evidence, resources and capacity support it.

Illustrative budget · Not committed funding

Proposed 12-month programme budget
PurposeAmount
Initial grants for up to five teams€500,000
Follow-on support tied to milestones€250,000
Incubation, experts & team matching€150,000
Hosting, finance, legal, evaluation & reserve€100,000
Total proposed budget€1,000,000

The initial-grant estimate is €100,000 per team, not a guaranteed award. Actual budgets will depend on project needs and delivery costs. Any grants require confirmed funds, review and an appropriate receiving arrangement.

We are inviting funding conversations. This website does not currently collect donations or promise tax-deductible receipts.
